Surveys are basically conducted to analyze how good your work is flourishing and to receive feedback from a certain target audience. You can check out more on The Use of Online Surveys in Evaluation.
What are Pre-test and Post-test Surveys? - as their name suggests, Pre and Post Survey are conducted before and after an actual survey respectively. The Pre and Post Survey Questions can be prepared and added in the same survey as different pages.
- Pre-Test Survey - The Pre-test Questionnaire is used to gather the base assessing information before starting the survey.
- Post-test Survey - The post-survey Research Questionnaire is used to gather follow-up data once a survey is done.
Usually, for the ease of Survey Researchers, it’s recommended to use the Pre and Post Survey in the same Research Questionnaire. If you need to know more about how Survey Research is done and executed, check out Conducting Survey Research - An Essential Guide.
Gateway Survey
In order to work with Pre and Post Survey, we need to link them with a Gateway Survey which serves as a unique identifier to link the Pre and Post Survey to one user. You can use any simple identifier like an email address or student Id etc. Any of the question types preferably a text box can be used. You can create the survey by logging in.
Once you have decided the gateway identification question, you should know whether the user needs to be redirected to the Pre-test Questionnaire or the Post-Survey Research Questionnaire. You can add a question for this.
The Gateway Survey and the Pre and Post Survey will all be part of one single survey. You can just add pages and create each part of the survey.
You have to create URL redirect links to both Pre and Post Survey from the Gateway Survey and share the Gateway Survey URL link with the audience.
Pre and Post Questionnaire Survey
The Pre and Post Questionnaire Survey is essential in the Survey Research process. You can also use the Pre-Survey and Post-Survey Incentives which serves as a reward to attract customers to your survey. For example ‘Take our survey now and get a $5 coupon!’. As part of the Research Questionnaire, we can use Evaluation Questions to know the mindset of the surveyor before and after a certain course or after the usage of a product etc.
